No one mentions it but 1998 rings true. Everyone always overeacts to a crisis. And currently with the preponderance of media and the accessibility of truth, everyone has all the "answers," but I would say hogwash. And get out your money and start investing.
And I am not sure if I am a gold bug, but I would say that gold appears to be great insurance currently. That means buying a little bit just in case, and if nothing happens great! and if something does, well you have a little spending money.
